Are you his Mom?

Once in a while when I am at the boy's school or at a school function someone will come up to me and say "Are you his Mom?".  When I hear this question it can go either one of two ways. The person asking the question either has something good to say or something bad to say.
Today I was on a field trip with Gavin and a teacher I didn't know came up to me and said "Are you his Mom?". For a second I held my breath and then I looked at the woman and said "Yes I am, please say something good about him." Well she did have good things to say. She went on to tell me that he is a very well mannered student. He always says please and thank you and he always helps out in any way he can. It was so nice to hear someone sing the praises of my child. I am such a proud Mommy!! Its great to hear good feedback once in a while. All too often people are so quick to point out the negative that they forget to notice the positive.
I'm so proud of you Gavin!! One more thing.... while I am bragging on Gavin I would also like to point out that Gavin scored a HOME RUN on opening day of baseball. Way to go buddy!!

Got herb?

Got herb? We do!!
Yesterday I was in Wal Mart and I stumbled upon a display of potted herbs. The best part was the fact that the plants were only $1. So I jumped on the opportunity and grabbed a pot of basil, chives and parsley. Marty and I have been talking about starting a vegetable garden and to be honest with you it sounds a little ambitious for us so I figured an herb garden would be a good place to start. The herbs are currently residing in a planter right outside the bay window in the kitchen so I can keep my eye on them. Keep your fingers crossed for these little herbs to thrive and produce for us because at the Green house its hit and miss in the plant department. Some live, some don't.

Sunday afternoon

Not too much going on at the Green house today or this week for that matter. Granny stopped by to try on Emma Kate's baptism dress and let me tell you it was BEAUTIFUL!
I hate to break it to you but you won't be able to see the dress yet. We are keeping it under wraps until April 23.

Here's what I can show you.... Its Emma Kate wearing her new sunshine shirt her Mommy made. I like the way it turned out so looks like there will be more of those in the future.

Does anyone see a resemblance?

I am by no means calling my sweet little baby a hippo....
Am I the only one who sees a resemblance between this picture of Emma Kate

and this picture of Hyacinth Hippo.

Just wondering.

She's crafty

The past couple of months I have been exploring my crafty side. Its been hidden away for a while but since I have a new muse (Emma Kate) its back and better than ever! Last month I did a little furniture rehab on a couple pieces that have been in the attic but now I'm on to making fun little headbands for my baby. They turned out pretty cute considering I am still learning. The best part is seeing Emma Kate wearing them.

The good ones

So I am showing my blog to Marty and I'm really excited about the whole thing and he looks at it and says, "Where are the good ones?". By that he meant where are the ones he took with his phone. Its kind of strange but Marty's phone takes way better pictures than my camera so his pictures are always way better than mine. So in honor of Marty and his picture taking skills here are some of "the good ones".

Working on that first tooth. Should be here any day now.

OK I know these posts tend to be a bit Emma Kate heavy. I do have two other kids you know. Later today I will have a post dedicated to Gabe and Gavin. Its the first day of baseball season. Happy Saturday!

A girl and her Dad.

There is one guy that really makes Emma Kate's eyes sparkle and that is........
HER DAD!

Since September.....

Since September quite alot has changed at the Green house. On September 17, we welcomed Emma Kate to the world. She is quite a blessing. Here is a peek of how she has grown in the past 5 months.
1 day old.

Sweater made by Granny.

She's very excited to go to church.

Another Granny sweater. We are so lucky to have a master knitter in the family.

So, thats all I have at the moment. Stay tuned to see more of whats going on with the Green family.
